SEND MORE PARAMEDICS Calls It Quits
June 23, 2007Leeds, England-based crossover/thrash/zombie-core masters SEND MORE PARAMEDICS have split up after six years together. The band will play its final concert on October 27, 2007 at Joseph's Well in Leeds. "We will be honoring all the commitments we have made up to that date," the group said in a statement. "It's been six years but our zombie corpses are finally rotting to the point at which we can continue no more. A million thanks to you all."
SEND MORE PARAMEDICS (whose name is a reference to the 1985 horror/comedy "Return of the Living Dead") originally formed as a side project of Leeds band AND NONE OF THEM KNEW THEY WERE ROBOTS, but gradually gained a higher profile. The band plays in the 1980s crossover style, with lyrics about zombies and cannibalism, and is heavily influenced by zombie movies. On stage, they dress as zombies and the drummer dons a Mexican wrestling mask (a homage to the character in Brian Clement's "Meat Market" films).
